I own several Benchmade’s, Spyderco’s, Microtech’s, Buck’s, Ontario’s, and Zero Tolerance’s and I am very impressed with the design and quality of most of them, but especially the ZT’s. I have the 0470cf, 0562cf, 0452cf, 0801bw and 0770cf and they are all perfect. But I just received in the 0801ti, 0609, and the 0393 and HOT DAMN! . . . these knives are beautiful! Every single one of my ZT’s are perfectly centered, have really nice blade grinds, and don’t have any defects that this old navy man can see. They have really smooth pivot action and the colors are beautiful too. I just wanted to give ZT a great shout out for their fine quality and thank GPKnives and Blade HQ for their great service too.

Nice to hear, Seadaddy!

You are certainly experiencing the gamut with some great knives.

best

IMO ZT some of the best value for the price.
I have had only positive experience with my ZTs so far

My only criticism would be that they don’t really have their own designs, and IMHO they don’t have the vision / inspiration as for exemple Spyderco
But that has nothing to do with quality of the product, it is more about the strategy of the company

But back to the knives themselves , for sure they are great

ZTs are my favs.

Give these a try too:
0095BW
0804CF
0562TI
0566,CF,BW (assisted, but one of the best EDCs ever designed)

Just to name a few more..

I have the 0770cf which is assisted and it is terrific. I’ve never tried the 0566, but will keep my eyes open for one.

For the money, you can't go wrong with ZT. I've had some lock up issues that I will put in the "Academic but probably not a practical issue" file. I do like their design collaborations, but they are trending a bit too much to the side of pocket jewelry for me currently. Nothing wrong with that. I certainly carry a nice ZT for a gentleman's knife, but I like their older designs. The 300 series, 350, 909, etc.

I've been playing with my new 303 for the last few days. I'm trying to come up with a task to use it for. So far, it's just been opening boxes. It's certainly an oversized hammer for that job:D

I’ve got three PM2’s that fit in that perfection category too. I agree.

Love my ZT knives. My 0566cf is one of the ones I carry most. Sadly my 0770cf is in Oregon now because the stop pin was loose and the carbon fiber seemed to be breaking up around it. I haven't seen any instances of this on the net, so I'm hoping it is a fluke. It's a beautiful knife and I don't care it's assisted, it awesome!

Love my spydercos as well.. So many great options to choose from!

Great knives. Have about 6 now. The heavy duty ones and now the last two ZT 0770 and the ZT 0470 which is getting the most pocket time.

Love em but for some reason they come and go in my collection. Have had all but a couple of what they make, but only have three now. No idea why. Think they are sound, good value, and perform, but I just don’t get the pride of ownership with them like I did early in my knife hobby. But everyone should experience them at some point.

As far as production knives, and even most customs, I find ZTs to have the best flipping action by far.

I have 26 of them - new and vintage - and like them all but didn't like their recent releases -the tiny 0022 or waveless 0640. Just bought a 0566G10 to go w/a 0566CF and am thinking of buying a 0562CF to go w/a 0562G10. Currently carrying a 0452CF.

Correction: I've got 27 of them and probably will soon own 28 instead.

That 452cf is one of the nicest knives they have ever put out imho. The knife looks like a little tiny knife when you just see the clip hooked on the pocket.

Glad to see somebody is still enjoying ZT knives, in my experience they always had top notch quality, F&F and service. After owning 20+ ZT models, I'm not sure I can say I love ZT knives anymore. It has been 4 years or so since I was excited for one of their new designs/knives, less practical/durable hardware on the new(er) models, on top of that the 10%-20% price increase... ZT has been disappointing the past few years. So many useless "new features" like glow in the dark CF. Just took a quick screen grab from ZT site, I would say out of the first 21 knives listed, only 4 are okay - not good enough that I have an urge to purchase any of them however. I think ZT is past their prime, with knife companies learning how to add a detent onto button lock flippers Protech Mordax, and axis-lock variants SOG Seal XR. ZT still does ship parts to customers, which is vital for a Canadian customer.

Do you still think that ZT's are some of the best value after the 10%-20% price increase on all models?

My ZT 0452cf has a longer blade than my Microtech Bronzed Socom Elite. Longest blade in my collection.

Demand usually drives the price, you agree? I just bought a 0393 with 20 CV steel for $179 from Blade HQ. Received in perfect condition. Manufacturer sticker price was $300+, as I recall.

The ZT 0393 was only that price because ZT discontinued the 0393 and knife retailers put it on sale to get rid of remaining stock. ZT hadn't been raising their prices as regularly as Spyderco and Benchmade. So, the current price raise had to do with catching up with inflation and slightly exceeding inflation so they won't need to do another price increase for a little bit. Thus, the price rise had nothing to do with demand, just inflation.
