Sorry Guys,

Been caught up in the Daytona thing this past week !!

The camera is a Nikon 990. Even with a photography background it comes with a pretty good learning curve if you want to make use of its many good manual functions. I'm still scratching the surface as far as its capabilities :D

Wow. That plant looks scarier than the knife!!! :) Great looking blade as usual, Neil!

Beautiful !!!

I am in the market for a digital camera right now.. What model camera are you using ??

I was looking at the Sony 300, but I am not stuck on it..

Any advise??

Hi Taz!!

Those palms are FUN to trim several times a year

Bob,

I would recommend Nikon no matter what model you chose. Even after many photograhy classes back in high school and college, my 990 is a bit more than I really need, and comes with a pretty good learning curve. Making the transistion from film cameras had not been that easy for me. The "instant" results and ability to delete and start over again are a big help. I bought the 990 for the close up features but soon found that for knives this really isn't needed. Using it would probably reveal dust mites hiding in the "grooves" of my 600 finish :) For website work you really don't need the 3.4 megapixels either.

Very nice Neil.., and the camera works well too ;)

Thanks Pete!!

Larry,

According to my wife, they are a Cycas revoluta or Sago Palm. Supposed to have been around since the dinosaurs. The big ones sell for BIG $$$ and we have actually seen people move them when they sell their homes!! NO KIDDING!!
This one was cut back in early December and now it's growing a new "top". I have to trim them back about 3 times a year, lots of fun.

WHEEEEEEEEE!!! Im back home, and armed with some S30V, A2, O-1, Devins Firestorm damascus and a new batch of belts. But I forgot my scanner and camera at college :(
