Loving my Sage 1

Probably should've guessed I would love the Sage 1. Had walmart native I liked. But didn't love due to the lockback and FRN. It isn't perfect, I tolerate rather than celebrate the spydie hole and wish the sage was more flickable. But I'm carrying and using it a lot so I guess it can't be too bad ;). Despite my initial impression of it's chunky profile, carries well in pocket. As I'm typing this I'm wearing old thin lounge pants, don't even notice it in the pocket. Comfortable to use. And it cuts pretty darn well, came shaving sharp. Think it's a keeper.

hi,i also have a sage 1,but it seems to spend more time in box!as i think it has to do with the size/shape of its blade and like you say,not vary flickable! so not to long ago i got a domino, and i think its every thing the sage 1 should be,better and longer blade, although a little heavy i'm really loving this knife, and i'm not a big fan of the wire clips that are on the sage series of folders any way, glad one of us likes the sage 1.

My brother had a Sage 1. I agree with everything said but one thing. His was extremely flickable. That thing was buttery smooth and fly out with ease.

My Sage 1 is very flickable. Release the liner lock & the blade falls free. Lock up solid & no blade play. Take it apart & clean/lube.

My Sage 1 was still stiff after "breaking in". I applied a few drops of nano oil and now it's very flickable!

Haha, carrying my Sage 1 right now! I just can't not carry this knife!

There's definitely something magical about the Sage 1. The feel of superlative quality is unmatched. I have knives that cost two, almost three times as much, and they don't have the same "quality feel" as the Sage 1. It carries and cuts so well, and the ergonomics awesome! Definitely a real winner for Spyderco.

Now I just need to get the other Sages....

I've had mine for a few days now and I'm loving it! Just a great knife and an awesome value, IMO.

Carried mine last night! My New Year knife!

I'm hoping to get myself a Sage 1 soon. I got a Benchmade Sequel recently to replace a lost Mini Grip, but I think I'd prefer a Sage instead.

My Sage 1 was my most carried knife of 2015. It's just the right size and disappears in your pocket. It's light and slices like a beast and has a nice tip. Definitely a knife that will stay in my collection.

Anyone having a wear issue with the detent ball? Only had mine for 4 months and the detent ball is flattening out, making the detent ball track wear weirdly. Opening is a bit sticky, but closing is perfection.

I think the Sage 1 is the best of the series. Good ergonomics, great f and f, and light . If I m going to carry a 3 inch blade i prefer it to be light.
