All,

What would be a low cost option OTHER THAN USPS to ship a box from the US to Europe at a price <$100? USPS and FedEx are both above $300, this is a non-starter. This is non perishable, non urgent stuff. I don't want to use USPS because their partner in France is very unreliable - I shipped the box a first time USPS and it came back to me without ever being presented.

Thanks,

JD

Maybe say where it's going to and someone in the Armed Forces may be close by and willing to accept it and pass it on. It's a long shot, but maybe worth saying if it's near a military base.

No - I'm looking for a commercial shipper, or I'll take it myself in a few months. In any case, it's going to France, so there are no US bases there. But again, I don't want to hitch a ride.

There are no low cost shipping options from the USA to Europe. Larger companies that have contracts with United Parcel or FedEx get lower rates due to the amount of business they do with the shipper but if you're just walking in off the street, forget about it.

try boat. I'm not sure what companies will ship to europe, but when i shipped things over to Korea from the states, i did some airmail(things i wanted right then) and things i didn't necessarily need right away(1 month) by boat. My things were well over 20lbs as well. 2 large boxes by sea, 1 medium by air $500. So for something 20lbs i'm sure you'll be under $100
