Low-key clip folder for khakis?

I have a mini Rittergrip that I carry IWB but you're right, you need a loose shirt to obscure the end sticking out. I'm wondering if anyone has seen a kydex or leather clip-on sheath that fits IWB. This would have the added benefit of negating the need for a clip on the knife, thus making it more comfortable in the hand. (apologize for the hijack) :)

I carry the full-size RSK IWB and find it very comfortable. The strength of the clip helps hold it there well and the curved shape is confortable for me. I wear it at an extreme angle pointing at my ... uh ... jewels. My SERE 2k is no where near as comfortable because of it's squareness and weight.

Should blend right in with khakis :D

If that was a delica I'd probably already own two! I may end up with the Endura, but it's just too big as my sheeple-friendly knife.

If you can afford it, the CRK Mnandi is hard to beat. ;)

I just can't spend that on an EDC. I don't lose knives often, but if I do it will be an EDC. I think about $150 is my limit (psychologically, not financially).

Do I get a deal since I already own 2 RSKs and 2 Mini-RSKs?
Above my pay grade. Talk to Aeromedix. Seems like they ought to offer some sort of quantity discount. <shrug> But, it's obvious you have great taste, so if you're ever in town, let me buy you a drink! :D
If you put a silver clip on it I will probably buy one.
Weeeelllllll...a stonewashed clip do look mighty fine... You just never know, do you? ;)

A clip that matched the blade would be very nice!

Benchmade 770, CF handles. The clip is SS and looks like it belongs to a pen. The knife rides pretty deep too.

Al Mar's SERE 2000 uses a clip that goes all the way to the top of the knife and attaches with two screws at the top rather than the scales. It means you can carry this relatively large folder without people seeing *any* of the knife. All they see is the clip.

I wonder why other companies don't follow this excellent concept.

28 replies and nobody has stated the stunningly obvious...put your knife in your pocket at work. In all likelihood, you're going to be very discreet and non-threatening if and when you do actually use it at work, so why do you need the .5 sec. quicker access that a pocket clip affords you? And on kakhis, the slash pocket does not make a good spot for a clip folder anyway, it always hangs sideways and wrinkles the pocket, hence drawing more attention.

At work I carry a small Berretta Busfield in micarta, clip removed. Very slim and unobtrusive. It rides alone in my strong side pocket. I hate jangly change in my pocket, but if I have some it goes in my weak side pocket, with cash and comb. Back pockets empty (my wallet stays in jacket pocket or briefcase).

You'd be amazed how thin and light a lot of ztyel folders become when you remove the pocket clip.

I agree - none of my EDC knives have clips. A couple of hard work knives do for outdoorsy stuff - but everything else gets REALLY slim when you take the clip off and just disappears in my pocket.

BM's 940 series, and smaller knives like the 770, etc. carry well in slash pockets because they're thin(edit: narrow) on the clip end.
I always carry my 940Ti when wearing slacks or a suit.

Am I missing something here? No one has mentioned the Benchmade Pika and Mini-Pika yet?

Its clip is black, but it's by far the most unobtrusive pocket clip I've ever seen on a folding knife (and I've seen a lot). The (Mini-)Pika also rides so low in the pocket that the folder itself is totally invisible.

The SOG Flash series and also the SOG twitch XL do this, too.

I like a clip. Sometimes using one has advantages. It gives me better pocket utilization for one thing because with a knife in its clip, there is more room in the rest of the pocket for cellphones, light(s), wallet, other knife, gun, etc.

This is what I've been doing for more than 10 years! I am only now discovering how nice it is to have it clipped to my pocket, hence the search for a new knife (I've come up with an *excuse*!).

But it's a good point.

I agree that many knives are better without the clip. The Al Mar SERE 2k and Ritter Grips made me realize how nice having a clip can be.

Thanks all!

I was just looking at this knife at the store yesterday. It's nice but not all that comfortable in my hand. Otherwise it's a good knife.
