So, with my new obsession for making handles...my current end product is a decent $15.00 440c blade blank and beautiful wood scales, eg. koa. If I include a good leather sheath from J.T.'s I would think it should bring something like $65.00 plus s&h. Is that (with no pix) reasonable? or what? Surely there are a bunch of guys doing something similar..can you sell them on eBay? I have no intention of getting to quantity sales...no two alike...just put a few up and maybe recupe some costs. It hasn't taken long for me to realize I'm soon going to have a bunch of "nice" knives laying around, all dressed up and no where to go. What do you do with yours? I'd really like to hear some suggestions/thoughts.

I gave the first bit of cutlery I made away. The rest resides in my kitchen. I gave the first knife that I made away. Compare then check the prices on store bought, let the customers know that you are using pre made blanks. Buy a knife making membership.

Welcome to Shop Talk. You are new, and may not have read the rules you agreed to when you joined.

Two things:
1) Putting a handle on a blade blank and selling it must be done with full disclosure. The buyer must be told that you didn't make the knife...just finished it.
2) As a registered user, you can't discuss your selling practices, pricing, or any sales related discussions that concern you selling knives. That is a privilege of the paying knifemaker members. Generalized discussion about what type knives sell, finishing kit knifes, etc. is OK, buy any actual sales talk is not allowed. Also, we try to keep all talk about sales conversations that includes prices out of Shop Talk in general.

Your thread is not a big violation, but I am going to close this thread.
