Low price EDC flashlight?

10 is good for seeing whats behind the couch, and under the fridge. Stuff like that. If you want to go big, do as you please, thats why there is a million lights on the market, and why I have one in my pocket, one in my day-bag, one in my other bag, one on the car keys, one stuck to the fridge... you get the idea. variety is the spice of life. If you want something cheaper thats got some throw to it, have a look at the fenix E11, E12, E21 and E25. I've got all but the 25 (and gave away the 11) great lights and pretty solid throwers for the price. But by then you are crawling up into maratac range, which you can probably get for a reasonable price (I can't)

As for where you are on the forums, I'm not sure about anyone else, but I think a lot of stuff gets missed in the general side, since there is just so much (I don't even go there) its why this little spot is here.

Just ordered a Cree Q5. The Fenix look pretty good too, though. I got the Cree for 3.35 on Ebay with free shipping. I might buy a Fenix too... I should not make hanging out in the light forum a hobby, lol. I already spend too much on knives and i can see myself getting into flashlights.

If only I had recognized this a couple months ago....

just an FYI. Cree is a company that makes LEDs so a Cree Q5 is actually the LED they've used. That can be helpful to know for comparisons. So if you had two lights with the same LED, you could compare how they are regulated, or the other features to make a choice. Nothing wrong with what you bought, most of the money is in the control chip, and then fit and finish.

If you like the Fenix E05 then check out the Thrunite Ti3. Same cell, same price, higher high, lower low.

Sorry, man, wish someone would have warned you.
I'm trying to catch myself early here... even saying that I've already got about 8. One for each vehicle, one to hang by the front and back doors, one for the pocket, and a few just to float around the house.

4 or 5 Ultrafires and some i can't identify and don't even remember. All T6 bulbs.

Thanks again for the suggestions and all but I'm gonna slow down on the lights for a while.

I have been going through a similar dilema and decided on a Streamlight Stylus Pro. I needed something that I could use at work and would double as a weapon light. Night sights are cool but you must see to shoot.

It's not super bright but 65 lumens is more than enough and the 6.5 hour runtime makes it very efficient. It's most inviting feature though is the size, it disappears in a pocket and is just large enough to not fumble in the hand.

I can see what you're saying. It's long and sleek, i like that, but not so much so to become uncomfortable or fall sideways in the pocket. I prefer more than 65 Lumens. I tend to overdo things, though. I prefer to have a flashlight that can light up my entire back or front yard (1/4 acre each) And i have a few that do that, i just wish they were the size of that right there.

By the way, Gorgeous BM you've got there.

Thanks,

I have my 400 lumen surefire or my 1000 lumen mag lite but to carry every day they are a bit much. I like to over do things too but the practical side of me came out and said 65 lumens is plenty, and in most all cases it does the job. This is not the only pen light though, there are several on the market with more lumens and modes, I just found this one to be the best balance of price and features, to me.

I work in a plant where you should never venture out without a flashlight. I carry a stylus pro every day. It's about perfect for me. I carry a knife clipped to my right front pocket and this light clipped to my left front. It's the right balance of size, brightness, cost, battery life and simplicity for me. It's amazing that you can get a good light like this for $20 now. I've never had a fenix like some of the others on here like. If you don't want to clip it to your pocket a shorter light might be nice. For me, the size of the stylus pro is perfect. I actually prefer that it has just one mode. I don't like the lights where you have to click 3 times to get the mode you want.

I've got the Thurnite Ti2 on my keychain for a few months now. Amazon price was $10, runs on 1-AAA battery. 2 modes: Hi 81 lumens & low 3 lumens. Not too sure if low mode's 3 or 5 lumens, correct me if I'm wrong.
