Low Tech Damascus - Help!

Oh yeah the binding wire barely stayed on before it just melted, I think I mainly just made it work. My delam came from a really crooked hammer blow btw. Watch out for melted wire shooting out under the hammer!
 
Good idea ... as long as the line to the shop is 220, split into two phases.
If the line is truly 220, put all the lights on a breaker, the 120 outlets on another, and two opposing breakers as a 220 circuit. If you have more breakers, you can put a dedicated circuit for some 120V bench tools.
