A whole lot of info here I'm looking into a lot of it going to ask the endocrinologist about some of it like the zinc and diet aspect,
And to answer a few ?s I'm 49 years old and from yeterdays doctors visit mt testosterone level is now at 137
The injections was due costs
Hopefully the specialist can find answer.
Thanks for all the help so far.

Apparently it's been proven that riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle with ape-hanger handlebars will raise your testosterone levels.

Maybe thats my trouble, I can't ride.. the three times I tried (a half dozen attempts each)could not even get the blasted thing to move,,, just stalled out over and over again.

I understand the cost viewpoint, but injections won't be "normal" and you will have symptoms come and go as you see saw with your T levels. That's why they developed the gels. They will put you back on an even keel right away.

But the problem with gels is the absorption rate is pretty low especially for the cost

That's something I'm really going to have to look into, Having a history of cancer in my family.

It was enough for me to drop the gels. I sometimes see TV commercials from lawyers advertising class action lawsuits against the gels on behalf of people who have cancer.

I am 54 and HAD "low normal" T levels..416 was my level. I have been on Axiron for 12 months.

I have the energy of a 19 year old. Lost 3 inches and 18 pounds.. I do work out 12-15 times a month. I can tell you it makes a huge difference. I weigh 195 and can bench 315. I couldn't do my weight before. You have to dial your T level in with your doctor. If you do that, the side affects are all positive. If you don't and take too much,it can cause serious problems. Too much over time raises your Hemoglobin and you will have too much blood in your body. That's were the heart attack and strokes happen. I get checked every 6 months and I can tell you it's made a world of difference in my life.

There is all kind of ways to get it into your body.. Roll on, gel, shots, pellets implanted that are slow release.. Try it for 30 days and you will never want to be without it.

Being on a T booster and driving a Harley has huge advantages.. Especially during Sturgis week:)

The gels do not cause cancer. Some cancers thrive with T, such as prostate cancer, that's why people on legitimate low-T therapy are tested for PSA levels, plus digital rectal exam of the prostate yearly or every 6 months.

If you get your medical info from lawyers on TV, you get lies. Only poorly managed or unnecessary T therapy has a risk of cancer. Low T therapy is not new science, what is new is the abuse by doctors selling youth to those with normal but low T levels due to age. The op is not in that situation. For those that suffer from hypogonadism (inability of their testicles to produce sufficient T) replacement T makes them "normal" with only a normal risk of cancer.

The problem is that there are so many abusing T, most insurance companies have very high copays, which forces poorer people to use the cheaper, but less effective injections or not get therapy at all.

Agree with this.. only thing I take exception to is the cost. You can apply online with the various manufacturers for a monthly coupon. Retail on Axiron ( which I use) is north of 400.00. I renew my coupon every 6 months and have never paid more than 25.00.

How do you know that gels do not cause cancer? I have heard that people with a higher risk of cancer, such as family history, are, in fact, at a much higher risk of cancer when using the gels.

From doctors, scintific articles, a summary of a symposiom on the subject and the various data sheets available in commercial drug products.

T therapy is not new medicine, what is new is the abuse of T therapy by those not truly suffering from hypogonadism, but just have low levels due to age. For some T is a necessary drug, for others it is a recreational drug...just like viagra.
