New Lower Price $350 shipped! Save $40

I have for sale a very special kwaiken I've made. My rendition is heavily influenced by legendary knifemaker Phill Hartsfield due to him and his work leaving such a strong impression on me over the years.

What I have made is a Kwaiken in AEB-L stainless steel.

.181” width at the habaki and 1.25”wide.
Blade is 5.25” in length and knife OAL is 10.5”.
62 Rockwell hardness with a liquid nitrogen cryogenic treatment
Chisel grind with satin finish and slight convex edge for increased edge strength.

AEB-L has excellent toughness, edge retention, work-ability, ease of sharpening, and ease of polishing. AEB-L naturally forms what is called the K2 carbide, the harder of the two chromium carbides and lies almost perfectly on what is called the "Carbon Saturation Line", which means that all of the carbides formed are precipitated carbides.
The habaki is hammered copper and given a patina. The habaki is what the sheath seats on and allows the blade to be free floating in the sheath.

The handles under wrap with a tight bound 3 strand cotton cord then given a samurai style brown ito cord wrap. It is impregnated with a special high grade marine epoxy that makes the handle impervious to the environment, water proof, does not chip or crack and provide a hard secure handle yet maintains a cloth appearance.

The 2 Menuki are a little piece of art in itself and are hammered finished copper with a blue/green patina.

The sheath is aluminum and covered in black leather. It is set up for waistband carry with static cord.

Jack,

I know right? Thanks.

It has been nice having it around but it needs to go to a new Home!

That's a really nice looking knife, and don't worry it will sell.
