I sold a few things recently. I put a lot of pride in how they go out. They're always in boxes--no soft envelopes--and packed tight where I shake them at the end to make sure nothing makes noise or moves. I take pictures of them in process, a shot on the scale with it open with the knife/object visible, a video of it all taped up, all open edges get taped shut, a shot of it again on the scale with a matching weight (or .1-2 oz above because of the tape), and they get scanned at the counter rather than just placed in a drop box.
Despite that, I overlooked something critical in my last set of sales: somehow I managed to print the same label twice and put it on two different packages. (Note to sellers: Even if you drop off two packages at the same time with the same tracking number, USPS does not detect it! Mine didn't.) I only realized this a few days later when I went to check the status of the packages and saw one label said ready to print instead of to click for tracking info. I checked the USPS receipt, and sure enough two packages with different weights show the same tracking info! I checked my package weight photos, and that confirmed two had the same label.
Quickly I messaged the buyer it was supposed to go to of the issue and asking what he wanted to do and also messaged

because he is who both packages were addressed to. I asked if he'd be willing to forward it to the actual buyer if I gave him a prepaid label and $30 for his time. He said of course he would and didn't need any extra money, just the label. True to his word he confirmed both got there at the same time and sent it out the next day. The other buyer received the knife in tact, thanks to

.
I leave feedback for folks, but this is my first GBU thread for someone. To have someone take the extra time to help me out of the jam and even decline the money I offered was above and beyond.
