The bead blasting left the tang and lanyard tube standing slightly proud. I was easily able to smooth things out with some 600 and 2000 grit sand paper. It still looks the same, but it feels a lot better.


Next up is a MP (Matt Paul) Drifter Seax - Used, like new. I forget what steel this is (5160?), but it holds a great edge and is easy to sharpen. Flat ground to a convex edge. Black paper micarta, stainless pins with a leather sheath (not my best work, but it protects you from the blade and vise versa). $300.00 USD shipped.

What's the handle length on the MP.... I know he was making them shorter at one time, and want to be sure it's a good fit.

Roughly 4.5". I wear a size large glove and it fits me perfectly.
