Lucky I still have a thumb

Hope you heal quickly!

Long time ago I caught a 5" blade metal handled balisong, the edge fell into my thumb and then the handle closed on it. The scar is still here after 20 years ;). No doctor, cleaned up and put Iodium (Betadine) into the wound and sealed up.

I have also a Resilience, it's still my EDC, but I am more careful after what happened : www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1103835-Liner-Lock-Frame-Lock-Release-Cutout luckily it's not the Resilience that bit me, but I'll be more careful with liner lock + cutout. I prefer GB style that has no cutout.

I had that happen once with an S90V blade I own. When it slammed shut on my finger, I heard a loud "Chingggg!!!", looked down and discovered the blade had a 1/4" sized chip in the edge from where it had made contact with my digit. Reminded me of how nice it is to be superhuman ;) .

Pics or it did`n happen......

Hope the wound will heal up quick and without any problems.. But don`t sell the knife, now she has tasted you then she is really Your blade..
If you get rid of here, she will haunt you, LOL....
Bad juju will og to Next owner, she will behave in your hands now that you have a blood-bond....
LMFAO I was thinking the very same thing. pic or it didn't happen

You should use a slip joint, they say that you can't have any accidents with those. :D
Bull shnizzle in onion Gravy! I have 2 slices right now and a broken thumbnail from my last custom slippie.

And to the OP, just make sure it isn't getting infected. Sealing up a deep wound that gets infected is bad juju for real. If it's still swollen after 4 days, or is hot to the touch and swollen, get your ass to a doctor, regardless of how much time it takes.

It'll feel much better when it quits hurting.

:p
Seriously though, get the shot if you haven't had one in a while.
It will heal quicker with stiches, if that matters to you. When I was a butcher we would go get stitches and be back at work within the hour most of the time, and the deep cuts would heal quicker with stitches. Thats before the meat cutters union left the south, and they paid us enough to go right back to work with stitches. After they left none of us would go back to work the same day, and most all of us soon got out of that field.

I've only cut myself a couple times but I feel the exact opposite about it. When it cuts you, you become blood brothers. Keep it and respect it.

What Bobber said. We all love the stories and subsequent conversation but it's like a car wreck. We gotta have pics!!!!

Were we relying on a knife's "lock" for our personal safety? Tsk. Tsk...... I hope you heal well. I'm glad you're taking the blame AND keeping your humor up.

A Tenacious was my first spyder bite. My fault entirely but, maybe these value line knives are cursed.

I had a resilience related wtf moment not to long ago. I use it for food prep every now and then. Not because it's better than a kitchen knife but just so it sees some use. ;)

Anyway I had just rinced it and was on my way to the dumpster at the end of my yard when I passed the garden table where one of my kids had left what I thought was an empty milk carton. So I casually strike it with my resilience walking past it and instead of knocking it off the table it just effortlessly sliced that thing completely in half in a superclean cut.
Turned out there was still some milk in there providing just enough weight for it to stay put. I just stood there baffled. Damn carton looked like it was cut with a laser. A razor sharp Resilience is a scary scary thing.

It was a lot worse than it looks now. Such a clean cut. The bandana is all that is left. I have the wound sealed with liquid bandage. Really don't let the pics fool you it was really bad.

Hope it heals well for you!
I like to use that canned air people use for computers to blow out my knives after cleaning.

I'll second that for sure. I removed a splinter once from the pad of my ring finger. It got infected, and swelled up like a giant zit. I went to the dermatologist. They shot anesthetic into the finger, and used what looked like a tubular cigar cutter to remove the core of infection. Then, stitched me up. Not pleasant. I hope you did well on your own.

did something to myself like this when I was 10. stabbed my right palm when i try to stab an apple. Didn't see a doctor - my parents may beat me up for stupid thing like this so I hide my wound. Lucky the knife didn't touch any bone and tendon. This post is the perfect answer of "why I want to carry a full tang fixed blade".

Dropped my Spydie Persistence giving her first wound, then cut myself, blood on blade, scar on G-10, not she's mine!
