Lum Tanto Fixed

They are so hard to come by, the which one is better question really doesn't apply. But, the answer is whichever one you are lucky enough to get a hold of. I got the blacka nd green G10 with VG10 steel.

^^^^^^^that's a big part of the reason I didn't send the 1/one I got back.

Man I was so close to scoring one yesterday in the fixed blade forum for a hundred bucks too. It looked a little used but that's what I want any way. Someone got lucky for sure, but it never seems to be me. :( Update just maybe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It went back up!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I'm right behind you in line (I think!)... Just in case you change your mind. ;)

Does anybody actually cut stuff with one of these?

I had a friend of mine field dress a deer with his AUS-8 version and he said it worked great. I've never really ever been a fan of tanto blades at all for the most part but the Bob Lum design is much more streamlined and to me much more functional as well. I've been wanting one of the VG-10 Sprint Runs to try out as a user and I will eventually snag one.

Now I do own and use my C-46 LUM Tanto folder and I even EDC it once in a while so I have no doubt at all that it's a great "user" tool.

I'm sure the fixed blade LUM is just as good as a functional EDC type cutting tool as it is a SD piece as it was meant to be. I've always been curious as to what the Tanto blades were designed for to begin with>> I've heard it was meant to be a self defense blade primarily.

It seems like every one of Spyderco's LUM models are truly timeless and they seem to be even more appreciated as time goes by. I've turned down some very lop-sided trade offers for my C-46 Lum Tanto folder but I just like it that much>> and I doubt if I ever trade my User Lum Tanto folder.

The fixed blade Spyderco LUM is truly one of their most elegant of all of their fixed blades. I wish they would eventually do more fixed blades with Micarta handles. I've also wondered what a full Spyderedged Lum Tanto fixed blade would be like???
