Busse Fans,

I've been a lurker on here for a while and have a Busse knife I have no idea as to what it might be worth.
Hoping you guys and gals will help a newbie out.

Here are a couple pics of the knife in question.

Gwen,
Prepare for an onslaught of emails!!

You ain't kidding!!! ;)

That's a GREAT Steel Heart you have there Gwen... Welcome to the forums and congrats on your first post!

For realistic value, you should seek out collectors like Randucci or Mulder... as I believe they are the biggest collectors of this style Busse.

Bought this one many moons ago and depending on value am thinking of selling it to buy one or more of the new ASH-1 LE's.

Gwen,

Let me be the first to say "I'll Take It"

In all seriousness, feel free to contact me for values.

Being a stamped version makes that one extremely rare. That with the birds beak pommel, I'd expect the price to around $1250.

No doubt a very desirable piece.

Hell, I'd buy it for 1250 and I don't even care for steel hearts:D

HOLY HOG CRAP!!!!:eek::eek: I THINK WE ALL WISH WE HAD ONE OF THEM TO SELL TO MULDER OR GRINDUCCI. They may even have a good ol hog battle over it. That looks like a beautiful specimen. Good luck. You won't need it as far as selling. You'll need luck dealing with the stampede.

I think maybe this is Randucci or Mulders wife selling off their stuff. :D Dave, check your safe man!!! ;) Don't buy your own knife..lol:foot:;)

Gwen--Welcome to the madness! You have a beautiful blade there!

A girl needs a knife...

LOL. My first thought was this was some HOG playing with us on a Saturday afternoon pre-Ganzaaa.
The post seems very HOGish in it's presentation, vocabulary and even the photos.
Gwen, if this is not a joke, take the preceeding as a complemnet!
And CONGRATS on a beautiful knife--if you happen to have a closet full of similar knives you can even expect marriage proposals!!!

That is what I would call a grail knife. I would offer to buy it but I am sure you are inundated with offers. Let me just say " If you sell it, thank you for enriching the community and congratulations to you for keeping it or whoever is fortunate enough to get it." On the other hand if you would like me to get it just send me an email or PM

Happy Hunting!

Thank's everyone for the warm welcome and emails.
This is going to be more difficult than I thought.

Damn thats a beauty....If I were you I would not sell that blade... Hold on to that vintage steel heart. It's not worth giving up for a few ASH1's. Thats my opinion.
It will be worth a lot more down the line...

Me neither!:D

Welcome to the forum MrsMEHOG. You should be able to easily afford at least a couple ASH1 LEs with what she could bring:thumbup:

I cannot imagine that the older line can continue to go up much beyond it's current value. However, if you get the right stuff from the new line, like custom ASH's or the SE's those will go up much faster 4 years down the road.

Putting it in perspective. 10 years from now, an ASH SE in INFI is for sale, versus this BBSH in A2. Both will be collectibles, both will be old and out of production. The INFI is the better steel. To a pure SH collector the BBSH will be worth a bit more, but not much more than the ASH. Certainly not double and an ASH SE may be worth more, who knows. Hence, why some people were not happy to see the ASH come out. It takes away from the rarity of the original. Busse does not normally bring back past lines, however, I think the premise on this one was that it had never been made of INFI so it was ok, maybe, who knows.

.

I have a few BBSHSHs, one of them in the picure is like yours. Email me if you have any questions.
