My new space requirements demand that a few prime pieces must depart, otherwise not enough room for my primary BW collection. Here is the first, an outstanding multi-purpose fighter, the "Apocalyptic" by Sam Lurquin, with 8" blade, 13 1/2" overall. In perfect, unused condition.
While I am not the original owner, I do know it has never been used. So..........
I contacted Sam and he advised the following, pretty much in his own words:
"The summer blade forged in 80crv2 steel. guard and pommel are in L6 steel. Top swedge sharpened from tip to sawteeth.
Handle is in vintage black micarta, it comes from an old New York fire station (electrical panel) from turn of the century, sandblasted for better grip.
Finish on the blade, guard and pommel were sandblasted, parkerized and then underwent a stonewash finish.
It was basically a knife I made for myself and didn't want to sell. I'm pretty sure I forged this blade two years ago."
