Lurquin Hurak Video

Great job, buddy--keep it up. :D

Sam's knives just keep getting better--amazing work.

Thanks Will

I was kinda nervous :)

I forgot to mention other key elements of the blade like Distal Taper and the convex edge

But you already knew that :)

Cool vid Joe. Love the weighted keeper strap idea, might even borrow it. ;)
Thanks for sharing.

Patrice please do

I have really put time in on retention straps and I much prefer the stud and hole set up over a snap

Snaps wear out and can pop open at the wrong time

As a kid I was a mate and a boat boy and I must have struggled with thousands of snaps on canvas covers etc

Even than I much preferred the the locking stud fasteners over snaps

Really nice video, Joseph. I really do think you would be a natural for a television show of some sort...you know more about hunting and outdoorsmanship than most of the hosts that get paid big money by sponsors.

As far as the Hurak goes, FOR ME, the handle is about 1/2" too long, and the blade is about 1" too short. I'm short, and have small/medium sized hands. The extra reach afforded by a handle that just sticks to my hand and a longer blade is something that I have come to appreciate. 5-5 1/2" is about the minimum for a fixed blade for me, going up to about 10". We use our knives in different situations and that will inform what we like.

What I can really appreciate is Sam's general bearing, and the craftsmanship that he brings to each knife.

At least we are both paying attention and using experience to guide our preferences rather than thinking we know what we are talking about like many armchair commandos.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Steven my brother on the unlikely note that I get my own hunting show I would bring you on as my sexy co host :)

Remember the key word here in unlikely :)

Good job Joe. The stud is really growing on me. I like it from a sound perspective too.

Great review, Joe.

Sam & Jeremy (aka EightBall) are very serious about their work.
They make great team.

Cool guys too.

;)

I'm a bit late to the party... but Great vid Joe!! I agree w/muscle memory and being VERY familiar w/your weapons/carry style. :)

Also... I gotta say I'm a bit envious of your garage and work/play area... :)

I'm late, too. :o
Just wanted to say thanks for the great video, highly informative !
Gonna' be very cool seeing any future vids you happen to post..
Big Thanks in advance !

Off topic question for Joe:
You hit the gym every day ? :)

Doug

Very cool, Joe. I think action hero in a post apocalyptic movie would be a money maker for ya!

Very seriously, I do not have a Hurak or any of Sam's knives for that matter. I have to remedy that quickly.

Great idea with weighting the strap. Thanks for sharing that idea.

The gopro is awesome cuz you can mount it almost anywhere.
My advice is to mount it in some interesting places in order to maximize the messages you're trying to convey
Instead of talking, edit the crap out of it. Illustrate your ideas through action.
Visuals get more views, talkies get passed over if nothing interesting is happening.
Keep your videos well under 3 minutes. Ideally 1 1/2 minutes. Short but sweet.
Take your time and rock out your editing.

Just my take.

Thanks everyone for the comments

Redsnake I love my garage . I spend a lot of time there . Just spent three hours setting up a recurve for a buddy
