Gentlemen:

I wasn't happy with the handle so I reworked it, took some better photos, and am reposting it here and on my website.....there's a film of oil glistening on the ricasso - sorry about that. :D I am an admirer of the work done by Belgian bladesmith Samuel Lurquin - this is my interpretation of one of his hunters in 1095 and Desert Ironwood burl. The hollow ground blade was hand rubbed to 2000 grit and etched to reveal a vivid hamon line. The flats are hand rubbed to 600 grit - unsharpened swedge. The blade is set in Exhibition Grade Desert Ironwood burl with G-Flex and a stainless pin. Yellow/black G-10 spacers. The guard was machined .005" undersized, driven on the blade then soldered. Thumb serrations on the spine. No sheath yet so you may specify right or left. I hope you like it! The first "I'll take it" gets it. $525 plus $20 shipping - International shipping will need additional postage I'm sure. Maker's lifetime common sense warranty and free sharpening.

V/R,

TK

Your knives make everything that I have look like a prison convict's shiv. I am very impressed with the form and execution.

Oh c'mon - I'll bet you've got some real beauties in your collection. Thanks for taking the time to look and post. :)

How did the other shape feel in your hand? This is less bulky and maybe looks a little more balanced but does it feel as good? Just a thought. It's hard to improve that knife.

Hey, some prisoners can make some pretty nice stuff!:D I saw one prisoner on a tv (60min??) that built electric guitars primarily from wooden model ship kits!!

That is a beautiful knife though.

Ben: The palm swell was reduced top to bottom - the butt of the knife should be equal to the height of the palm swell for this design. It still feels great in the hand and now visually balanced.
