LT really does come off as a huge tool in his videos (some are worse than others). I suspect that part of this may be that he is a business man first, and he uses his salesman voice and attitude (which works for some people, but not for others. It can't be said that he isn't a good salesman) for his training videos, which isn't the voice and attitude that martial artists expect from teachers.
That said, I have both his knife fighting and hawk fighting video series and they are good — I wouldn't call my opinion 'expert' but I have over 15 years of martial arts training so my opinion isn't totally worthless, either. They are not the be-all-end-all of knife and hawk fighting systems, but they have good, basic information (and some slightly more advanced information). You could do a lot worse than these videos. I think that if you approach his videos, like all videos, with an open mind and a grain of salt then they will give you an excellent foundation for either weapon. There are certainly short-comings to his systems, but I think they are easily identifiable if the viewer has seen any other good videos, as is a generally good method for weeding out crap.
In conclusion: (1) LT comes off as a huge d-bag to many people, especially in his training videos. It is true that he has trained with a lot of great martial artists, and I think he could learn a thing or two about humility from them. (2) If you can get past his personality, his training videos are good for what they are and less good for what they are not. I think a lot of martial artists can relate to this, because many of us have experienced teachers who have good things to teach but are a-holes.
