"Méthode Champenoise"

While on hols in France, stumbled upon a lovely coutelier in St Paul de Vence, and there spied this wee fella which ended up coming home with me...

Glad to see this thread resurface. Thanks everyone. Nice old waiter's friend Adrian. Beautiful knife Chui. Jolipapa, I liked your story about Napoleon.

Jack, that is an great knife. I'll renew my efforts to find something on that stamp.

This is a very recent addition to my collection. The scales are buffalo horn. Unfortunately, no maker's mark.

Thank you my friend, that is very kind of you, and much appreciated  Your new addition is very interesting

I spotted a Champagne Knife in an antiques shop in North Yorkshire recently, but on closer inspection it had no springs. I explained this to the proprietor, and as I was leaving, he thanked me saying that he would "look out for a couple of new springs"! :D

Jolipapa, that's a waiter's friend style opener that is stunning! My father used to have a very nice one, as he went to wine and food shows for work, but it's been lost.
