M-2

I can't recall ever seeing or hearing of a Spyder in M2 and it's not in their current steel lineup, at least not for anything actually in production that I know of.

They don't have any plans for M-2 (that I know of), but there are several knives planned in CPM M-4, one folder designed in collaboration with Gayle Bradley and the next Mule Team are what what we know of right now.

The Gayle Bradley collaberation isn't a sure thing yet. It's still undecided last Sal spoke of it. I would imagine it would probably be well recieved if it does come about. Benchmade is making a version of the 710 in CPM M4 for Gunworks and they are preselling tons, at a price not much higher than a D2 710, unlike the fixed blade where they went all the way with a gold class model priced higher than many customs.

All very interesting, and only a sprint run so far. There has been a clamoring there for a remake of their old M2 models, with NIB ones going for near sebenza prices when they come available , which is very rarely.

I often wonder about that. They didn't sell all that well when stock items but now everybody and their brother wants them, even though we have similar or higher performing cutlery steels on the market, stock items.

Would the same thing happen to an M4 version if it was brought out and put in the catalog, or has end users taste in knifes generally changed or become more selective? Joe

I'm loving these high speed carbon steels that are out now.

There's been so much forward progression in stainless cutlery steels, but it's great to see Crucible focus on non-stainless tool steels too. 3V, M4, CPM-D2... we all win. :)

I agree!

I wish that Sal could find a way to offer CPM M-4, CPM D-2 and S90V in a variety of knives.

I have a Millie in S90V, and another in CPM D-2 The S90V is my EDC, but it's a little large for carry when wearing a suit! :p

It is only a matter of time. Spyderco has been really good about offering knives in exotic steels so it will happen.
I have needed a 710 for my collection and now i know which one to get.
3V is a cool one.
