M.E.U.K. update?

Doesn't look that special to me.

The last thing the world needs is another unimanginative knife maker.

The previous posts and the all too revealing email posted previously is too much to ignore.

For us to try to support or sponser every aspiring knife maker is asking too much. We've got more than we need already. Anything you want is out there. A lot of folks want recognition and standing in the knife community. Should we give it to them whether they deserve it or not?

Should I promise a free knife to promote a company that doesn't exist? No capital, no inventory, nothing new, just emotional plays.

If he fails it's not because of me, it's his own past and present actions.

If someone here had not questioned the original design he would have gone ahead with it.

But, when it was brought to his attention, he suddenly got his mind right.

Ever wonder if some of the QC problem knives that left MD were ground by him?

Yeah I'm crazy, but what do you want me to do about it

The knife in the picture is not exactly radical, but I wouldn't call it "unimaginative."

And the balance sheet of MEUK is not a concern to any of us who are not extending credit, and doesn't need to be discussed in a public Internet forum.

And we should be discussing knives, not personalities.

Allen,

Looks good to me. What's going on in the choil?

I'd like to wish you good luck. It seems you have an uphill battle, and it will unfortunately be fought in the public eye. Bladeforums has been a tremendous boon to me and most of the makers that post here, and I think with time it will be to you as well. Folks here have shown time and again that they will (for the most part) never close their minds to anything, and I think you will find your critics becoming supporters if you "stick it out." Take care.

Let's start by giving them credit for fixing the most obvious problem, the cloning.

The knife itself is a good design given the metal, the size and the likely uses...it's not radical but it's a step up in several directions from existing designs in that class. The one "Doggish" thing it retains that I approve of is the electrical isolation between hand and blade metal.

The credit issue has been pointed out already by myself and others. It's not a bad point but harping on it is pointless. It's been said; they're either going to gain credibility or lose it and it's completely up to them which happens. If they do business in such fashion where credit isn't needed, that'll raise their credibility with me immediately. In any case, I'm sick of squabbles in general, it's time to let them take their futures where they will.

Errr...the choil comment was my fault? I was in a rush out the door this morning and I somehow got the impression the choil was more "Mad Dog type" than it actually is. That choil shown here isn't Dogoid at all.

Sorry for the confusion.

Jim

Hello,

Im not going to Address the MAD dog Issue
anymore as it is non-productive to me and the general membership for me to Comment on
it. As Far as the MEUK design and Company goes MR KNIGHT.

I changed the Design because i was asked to, and i didnt want the hassles of Comparement.

If you dont like the Design and feel it is not up to your standards, hey more power to ya!! thats what makes the knife world go around!!

Hey i dont happen to like the Bill Moran Spyderco for my own reasons, but then again
i think some other Spyderco stuff is great for its intended purpose.

As For the MEUK company which is OWNED and Licenced to my Stepson, employing me as his maker, KRIS has already supplied Faxed Documented Proof on that to Mike Turber,
thats fact, so that argument is MUTE.

It sounds like you have a CHIP on your shoulder about my design or me or both, if you think you could make it Better , I cordually Invite you to my shop to Make me One!! I`ll even supply the material. 8-)

An Please dont Condem my Step son and MEUK for whatever problems you seem to have with me(imagined or otherwise).

Also i am not asking anyone who doesnt like what i do to support anything i do or make, i havent been talking about my {B}marked Allen Blade Knives, i have only discussed the MEUK series Knives i am making for My Stepson`s Buisness.

I make and sell all my own personel knives, and do work for "other" Firms, I didnt need to come to BLADEFORUMS to sell knives.

I wanted to be able to POST to maybe
contribute to some discussions on Knives and such. Maybe i know a few things about making knives , who knows!!

As Far as me being the Quality control issue for KEVIN, I only Ground the Original Pre-production 1st set of 50 limited edition,Hardchromed,Kalguard coated, with the little notches in the spine and around the Tang Models, i think i ground like 20 or 30 of those. Also made a Set of Custom Throwing Knives for an Artist lady kevin knew,MD marked of course.

And I Ground the Blade on the Movie Knife
Called the "PUNISHER" kevin and I made for KATHY LONG for her movie " KNIGHTS"

Other than that KEVIN is on his own as far as " QUALITY CONTROL" goes. 8-)

Nuff Said,
Allen Blade

Thank you Allen you saved alot of typing for me. RKnight why do you have to wage war on them? Let them live or die on their own merits. As far as the cloning issue goes if someone modifies a Loveless design they are generally considered in a good light but if they modify a MD style (which is so basic I can't tell why it is suppose to be his) they are cloning. Who cares? It is evolutionary improvement. If it isn't then no one will buy them.
