Hello guys.
This "thing" is really cutting ... and insidious. It bit me without any hesitation as soon as I sharpened it. Perhaps because the blade is only 1.7 mm. /0.06 in./ thick at the base.

Blade – 128 layers Damascus steel hand forged of 80CrV2 /L2/ and 75Ni8. Differentially heat treated with clay. 58 – 60 HRC after tempering.
Handle – Sycamore tree and cornel tree dead and dried up on root. Both stabilized.

Inlay – bronze and malachite mosaic.

Guard – bronze.

The sheath made of 3.5 - 4 mm. cow leather my friend George Petkov.

An aged porterhouse and a nice cab. Good in the feasting hall and good in the deer woods too. Lovely work.

Mike, looks like it may be a left hand cut. Hope it's not deep nor jagged and heals promptly. I was loading a hay wagon and missed this. Another great blade and another end zone catch by Doubledown. Well done, Cory. I'm particularly taken by the patterning in the Damascus. On that thin blade it presents almost like a bookmatched set of scales. Nearly symmetric. Sweet!

Thanks chip. I've lost count how many of Mikes blades I own, but I don't think I will be slowing down very soon.

Just the tip of the right thumb. :D Painful at work, but nothing serious. It will pass quickly.
