Hello guys.
Probably many of you have seen on Discovery those colorful little frogs from the Brazilian jungle. Indians rubbed arrow’s tips into the skin of their backs and then apes descend at high speed from the treetops. Their bright colors say exactly - "Don’t mess with me." In this knife I tried a similar tactic with little warning yellow. :D

Blade – 198 layers Damascus steel. For cutting edge is laminated high carbon instrumental steel 52100. Differentially heat treated with clay. 59 – 61 HRC after tempering.

Handle – Mahogany and poplar burle. Stabilized.

Guard –bronze.

Separators – bronze and fibre.

Inlays – bronze.

The sheath made of 3 – 3.5 mm. cow leather my friend George Petkov.

Well Mrs. Thumbdrum may throw my ass out in snow but I will take it, Mike. They just keep getting better and better. Nice, nice.

thumbdrum, thank you for taking this one. Now I don't have to find the money to buy it. You will like this on, I have a similar one.
Mike, you keep outdoing yourself. Great job.

M.K. your work continues to become better and better. The lines become cleaner and more professional looking. Your older work had that sort of "cottage made" feel to it but as your skills improve the knives you make look more refined and polished, just all together more pleasing to the eye. Keep practicing, clearly it is leading you somewhere.

Bozack, I'm very pleased to have this piece. It combines in a refreshing and fanciful way. Yet still speaks to great skill and design vision.

Mike, I still am happy with all the "cottage Made" feel knives I own from you. If you keep practicing I will never be able to afford to buy anymore.

Thank you, boys. I did not expect such response, really.
Which does not mean that I am not happy.

That's a beautiful looking knife. I've seen others of yours. Are your pieces practical and strong enough to use in the field, camping, or even hunting? Or are they more decorative pieces?

Thanks, and again, some great work.

Well, I'm given an approximate hardness of the blade. Do you think it will be enough to cut the bread with it?
The steel is 52100. Hardened dt 810 degrees. One minute per each millimeter of thickness. Tempered at 190 degrees for 90 minutes.
I personally do not like to kill animals. It has happened, however, to receive feedback from customers who like personaly to gain their steaks. Perhaps there is dissatisfied, but apparently they were too lazy to write to me. :)

Great piece again Mike!
Can you tell me how far into the handle the tang goes please?
