Some time ago I got a very special treatee hornbeam tree. In practice it is difficult to distinguish it from ebony. Similar color, texture and stiffness. Its color is the same in depth. A piece of this tree I used in my previous knife. Now I made a whole handle out of it. I hope you like it.
Blade – 145 layers hand forged of 80CrV2 \L2\ and 75Ni8 Damascus steel. Differentially heat treated with clay. 58-60 HRC.
Handle – Stabilized hornbeam.
Guard – Bronze.
Inlays – Bronze.
The sheath made of 3.5 - 4 mm. cow leather my friend George Petkov.
