I built this knife for the simple pleasure of doing what I want. This frame lock damascus combo is smooth and solid. The damascus steel is blued in a special salt soup that gives the blade an array of beautiful colors, golds, greens, oranges, reds, dark blues, as well serving its main purpose, protecting the steel. The colors are most prominent in the sunlight. The frames are .160" ti heat colored, anodized, and orange peeled for a complimentary range of colors to the blade.

3.5" blade 1095/15n20 random damascus, forged by me

Blade length? Closed length?

BTW, just looking at it on my phone, beautiful! Need to get home and look at bigger pics!

Frank, Can you describe your salt soup? How does it work on mono steel blades such as O1 and 1080?

Thanks
Steve Hostetler

It's a caustic salt soup. It will blue carbon steel, depending on the finish and a couple other variables, different colors are achieved.
