m1 garand rebuild

these garand pics are OLD my buddy gave them to me today, i beleve these were from when he first baught the rifle. the other pics are of my model 52 target pistol.

i started to clean the guns today, i only got about half of them out because i ran out of room :D ill have to do the other 50 or so tommarow.

i picked up a 1000 round case of wolf 7.62x39 today along with a 40 round clip for my ak. :rolleyes: notice any thing different about the garand?

i just back from the range, ive got 6 guns to clean [Cry] ive been cleaning for 2 days stright and ive still got 40 more guns to go [Dunno]

now heres the fun part. this target was shot at twice with both my garands at 200 yards. the tight group at the top is 10 shots i shot from a 2 round and then a 8 round clip (like in competition) from the 1942 garand.

the other scattered shots were from from my 1943 garand. the 42 groups alot better but im not entairly happy with the group at that range. ill be shooting it at 600 yard matches so im going to have to tweak the sights and trigger group alittle. the 43 on the other hand is going to have a full redo including a new match barrel and trigger group.

this was on sell at walmart for 10 bucks, how could i resist [Dinner] when i hit it the target did a backflip about a foot in the air lol. i did fix it atleast.

Wow, I think my love affair with the Browning Hi-Power is over. That is one lovely loooking pistol.
