Someone recommended this knife to me for an EDC/self-defense knife.

What are your opinions on it, especially in regards to:

1. Blade style
2. Lock strength
3. How grippy the handle is

The handle looks kinda smooth to me, with no finger grooves or rough texture.
Anybody want to tell me how the grip is?
 
The grip is textured G10 and the holes in the scales add to the ppositive grip. What part of the grip are you concerned with? The flipper keeps your hand from sliding onto the blade and the curve at the end helps with blade retention if the blade gets stuck. It doesn't seem slick at all to me.

Don't be dissuaded by the scales. They are fine.
