M16/AR15 bayonet

new Imperial M7 bayo for AR15s/M16s (few rubbing marks from the sheath only) + used M8A1 scabbard from PWH.
Vietnam era or early 80's I would think.

Will this bayonet fit a M-4 carbine with the spaced bbl for the underside M40 launcher? The rifle has the lug for a bayo and the M7 is the one I think fits. Please advise.

yes it will fit as long as you are using a 14.5" M4 barrel with A1 or A2 flash hider.

This is a USGI bayo made for the M16 family.

How about the 16" taperd bbl? Will it work with that barrel and lug?

no the 16" barrel is too long. The M7 or M9 bayo will only fit on USGI barrels i.e either 14.5" M4 or 20" M16.

the back of the bayo fits in the lug and the "hooded" part fit above the flash hider. On a 16", that part would be over the barrel instead of the flash hider.

The bayo lug is standard to all mil spec front sight bases.
