M2 versus 154cm

I have a lot of knives with ATS34, and I have no complaints. I have noticed that different heat treats, edge angles and polish make a big difference for this steel. I have a custom, convex edge with a high polish that went longer than any other knife before it needed a touch-up. In the knives I have, it's totally serviceable. So if M2 is "better" I couldn't see how it would make a difference in my daily life. If M2 rusts more than 154cm, I'd say that the 154cm is better for a daily every day pocket knife.
