Hey guys, I am currently working on my version of a M3 trench knife and I figured I would take some pics along the way. This will be first try at a threaded takedown. Shout out to Karl Andersen for his wonderful videos he recently did documenting his process. It was very helpful, and mine will work in a similar fashion.
Here's what I have so far.

The blade is CPM 3V and will have my high performance HT.

I'm working a full dagger as well. 😎

Hard stamped, because old school!!

Rough grind.

Refined.

The tang is ready to thread here.

Thanks guys!

I figured I should probably show this one too.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

What are your spec's on this first dagger, Ben. Id like a blade about the size of the Gerber MK2 if I was in the market.

Who am i kidding, I'm always in the market :D

The M3 has about 6 7/8" blade and the dagger has about a 7" blade.
Handle length will be almost 5"
The M3 is close to original thickness at around .210" and the dagger is .285" thick.

I'm loving that Dagger Ben! I'm looking forward to seeing the build.:)

Can't wait to see the handle come into play!

Speaking of which!
I decided to simulate the original stacked leather handle with stacked natural canvas Micarta. A bit of work just to get a solid block I can start to make into the handle.

Figured I'd make up a couple blocks while I was at it.

A look into where I am headed with it.

Cleaned up at only 50 grit with a little oil.
