For the next two weeks, until 9/22 at 11:59 pm, I am going to be working on a giveaway for this Gen One Big Chris neck knife.

Specs:
3/32" O1, 6.75" OAL, 2.625" blade, right hand chisel grind

For every $100 spent on a Big Chris knife, you will get one chance in the giveaway. When RevDevil responds and tells me the appropriate forum to keep track of the entrants, I will post a link to that in this thread. I will try and post a knife every night for the next two weeks and I think everything will be new, no reposts. Thanks for looking. Good luck to all!

Curious those "dots" on the side of the blade you have your mark on. Are those just water droplets or are they actually divots in the blade? Hard to tell from the picture, nice looking knife though.

It had just started barely sprinkling when I took the pictures. Thanks for asking about it.

.005" edge before sharpening, very nice!!! I just measured all the factory made kitchen knives in the shop, and they were a surprisingly thick .015" for the thinnest to a whopping .025" for the thickest.

Will come secured in a high quality cardboard sheath, made from a Pampers diaper box----oh my, that is great! :}

My Big Chris santoku is great! This one looks to be even better!
Those are some really nice grinds on that knife.

Looks great Chris, Ban better watch his back! This is tempting me way too much...Russ

Thanks for the compliments guys. I have not cut anything with this knife, but I am not kidding when I say it is probably the sharpest knife in my house. This is one of the thinnest flat grinds I have made to date. No meat or veggie will know what cut it after meeting this edge.

Chris, the two EDC knives I bought from you months ago are still the sharpest knives I own. Have you done an instructional on sharpening yet? I would love to read about your process for getting the edges that you get, or any tips/tricks that you may employ.

Super sweet looking Chris. Folks, you can't go wrong with one of his blades. Will be bugging you in the next couple weeks for something in M390 with some custom scales we talked about earlier.

Hi Chris,

M390 is such a great choice. What does this one measure from edge to spine?

Jason

How does m390 hold up in the kitchen? I know some stainless steels like vg10 can be prone to clipping but ive had a hard on for an m390 chef's knife for a while

I have not used this knife, but have a hunter I have been using for several weeks as the go to in my kitchen and I am very pleased. I have had no issues with chipping or rolling or staining or anything with M390. M390 is a very great performer and I have not been let down in the kitchen. For slicing and cutting chores it will hold up wonderfully and praise what a wonderful steel it is, but if you are a bone cutter I can not promise it to be as amazing.
