M4 is surprisingly easy to sharpen.

230- I can hardly believe that's a hand sharpened edge. Awesome work. Sharpening Spyderco's CPM-M4 is on par with Benchmade's S30V in my opinion. Takes a mirror bevel a bit easier, actually.

Thank you.

Honestly, I seem to get better edges freehand than with guided systems. Having owned an EP for a short while I can tell you I can get knives a lot sharper with .25 diamond than by finishing up with the 6k tapes. Not knocking the system though, just not for me.

Ya know I'm really glad you posted this up, I had a very similar sentiment. Over the holiday's I sharpened 3 of the Benchmade Griptillians in M390 (very similar to M4 from what I hear) and they were surprisingly easy to set a bevel on. As well, I received a Gayle Bradley from my girlfriend, which I have yet to sharpen but I had a hunch it was gonna be similar to the 390 experience. Interesting how such amazingly wear-resistant steels sharpen up so easily.

And yes, very nice looking edges your getting there
