I have to run out and mow my lawn before the rain due tomorrow plus tomorrow's football Sunday and I don't want any chores left. But here are some pictures to chew on before I start the lawn duty, 26 of them so it will take three posts. You can sort of see the grind burn and a faint image of the VERY faint scratch OOTB on the blade in the 7th and 8th pictures down. I'm going to tweak the blade centering as I believe I can adjust that:

So.. I know they are completely different knives... but which do you like more? the Hogue or the Ti millie?

I haven't carried the M4 yet but apart from the extra weight of a standard Millie, I assume it will carry the same. Honestly, I REALLY like the Hogue 4" G-Mascus a lot. The weight difference of these two knives is insignificant. I put them up together because they compete on a size/weight level but the blades are obviously geared toward slightly different uses, The Hogue carries deeper but the thumb stud cutouts sit in a perfect position for your thumb to grasp while pulling it out of your pocket. It works perfectly.

I prefer the Spyder Hole over any other deployment method but I'm getting used to the thumb studs again, something I haven't really used in a long time being a predominantly Spyderco guy.

I'm becoming partial to stonewashed blade finishes having experienced the Hogues now. I'd love to see an M4 Millie with a stonewashed finish with a standard Mille handle.

I prefer the handle of the Hogue a slight bit more because there is plenty of real estate but not too much either. There is about a 5/8" difference in the two knive's OAL.

I really like the Hogue plunge lock without experiencing its long term effectivess yet. As a righty, it's is the epitome of one handed operation.

Overall, the Hogue FTW by a slight margin. I've been carrying both Hogues exclusively since I got them and actually prefer the 4" a bit more than the 3.5" because of the handle real estate and because the 4" doesn't feel significantly bigger in my pocket when carrying it.

The value added of the Hogue's very thin, polished edges (you can see the sheen on the edge in the pictures and that's 100% factory) and perfect F&F OOTB is a plus. I consider the Hogues a production knife top value for the street price.

So.. I know they are completely different knives... but which do you like more? the Hogue or the Ti millie?

That would have set this M4 Military apart from its standard brother as far as looks go from the G10 side. If this is a $210 knife, I'd have added another $5 to $10 for CF for sure.

looking at the pics - CF would be so much better that G-10

There are lots of pretty knives out there. I kind of like the simple black G10 on this one. This one's going to be a user for me. Didn't buy the M4 to sell it for chump change.

Almost forgot, nice pix

I wonder if Spyderco would be willing to manufacture and sell CF scales?
Lets ask Sal....

Most knifemakers, including Spyderco, are incredibly reluctant to do that. I think you'd need to find a custom maker or hope that a scale transplant from a CF sprint would work.

Well by odd I just meant different than what I thought was the liner shape in the standard Military but to be fair, I haven't actually compared the M4 liner to a standard Millie liner

I won't swear they're the same, but my impression, based on flashlight peeking and memory, was that they were - I could easily be wrong. Brad S. posted some pics of his C36GTIP broken down, so a comparison against a current standard Millie ought to be do-able without having to disassemble one of the new M4 LEs.
