Review M43 is soooo tough...

I have some tops and other "middle-higher end" production knives, and even to me spending my money to destroy any of these tools is laughable, i get that people like to destroy and abuse them. I obviously like using my khuks i feel the kamis would appreciate knowing i am actually using some not all of their work. I dont ask my tools to do anything that i would not want it to be able to handle the more you use some the more you realize you can use them harder. But intentional destruction of an HI is not something i would ever do i value the life built into these blades and take pride knowing they work better than intended. Knowing they are blessed also makes it a shame to destroy such works of art.

AMKO tops is a USA production knife company that makes outdoor knives and military knives. Known for ruggedness and durability most in 1095 steel

You understand that it's O.K. to do destructive testing on a CAK, but it's utter blasphemy to do anything but fondle and whisper sweet nothings to an M43. Blasphemy, I tell you. If you can have only ONE khukuri in your life, make it an M43. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Question Mr Bookie? Your opinion....light weight i.e. 25-28oz or heavy weight....anything over 30oz?
Thank you

I’ve got 2 type, 2 Kumar slightly over 27oz @ 18” and one approx 31oz. I really love the light weights. My opinion.

Oh I'll use that for a reason I don't have an M43 yet. Waiting for a light weight. Put away the dolls Dr. Bookie.

.....but I don’t want him using them on me because I’m your patsy. Gee, I only have been buying these since March 2017.
How many years have you had to buy one Mr Joe? Hmmmm?

Oh sure, throw me under the bus to save yourself........................I feel the deep lug bus tires as I write this.

I'm a newb to compared to most ya know?

But I always admired you as “The Moderator”, “BAWANNA”!!!

You were supposed to mentor me in the right direction!

In a thread I started (see: M43 after CAK), Bookie says:

"If you can have ONLY 1 khukuri, it should be an M43! Light weight M43s are only wannabes! Anything else is blasphemy."

Thats the reason I currently keep a 31 Oz. M43 handy! Gotta stay on the right side of them dolls...

I must say, wildmike had a complete different take on it. Through much use, he proved the lightweight was very capable of survival situations. I like to follow the guys who use them and prove them!

Then again that "heavyweight" M43 is doing good for grip strength, wrist and forearm...but since it's so beautifully balanced it feels alive in the hand! Vive la difference!

Amko, you are going in the direction of purchasing knives like I did. I talked to Ms Yangdu and her suggestions were the CAK, M43, BAS, WWII. Not in any particular order. These were the first 4 knives she suggested for the start of my collection.
Just thought I’d share.

Auntie Yangdu recommended those exact knives! Proud to say I have them all except the WW2…

I'd love to see Wildmikes legendary M43.

I doubt I could narrow the ones I still want down to a bakers dozen. Do you think I'm a glutton or a khukri hog?
