M6 Scout setups...mine is enroute

Ohhhh I've been drooling over these for ever.... We should start a petition and send it to the manufacturers to see if we can get a limited run made...any interest???

Hey Rock, thanks for the post. I took the hammer assembly apart, and put it back together. :foot: Now the hammer DOES strike the firing pins, but there doesnt seem to be a safety? If i spin the knob in the counterclockwise direction (following the "lock" arrow) then the knob unscrews... (the reason why I "took it apart") :D If I put the knob in the center position, where it doesnt strike a pin, then there is no Detent visible?? There is an 'S" stamped on the left side of the hammer? Wonder what this denotes?

At any rate, it seems to be ok now, as both pins are striking well in their respective positions, there just doesnt seem to be any safety.

I drilled out the hole under the front sight and now a swivel fits in there, and I replaced the rear screw for a "wood" sling swivel stud, and it fit perfectly. Now I can use a sling! Other than that, it looks just exactly like yours, as mine doesnt have a trigger guard either. Mine came with a custom handguard that the previous owner had made. it is stamped "sheath mechanic" on it, and is made of Kydex. Its attached with 2 pieces of industrial velcro on the receiver and pops onto the lower barrel. Its awesome!

Gotta try it out soon.

Here's a couple pictures...sounds like your saftey stop in (?) is broken or not present??? At 1200, the pin is aligned with the barrels and you can pull up or down on the firing pin nob to switch between the two barrels. As you position that nob in the center, you can rotate it counterclockwise, just a little over 90 degrees where it ends up just below the "S" which denotes "safe":

Sheath Mechanic no longer makes kydex stuff, but is a great guy in GA...a good friend and he's made a few sheaths for me...that's a good guard...you need to post a picture!:D

Wow, Rock... Great Pics. I see what you mean now. Mine is slightly different, but I do see where there seems to be a detent missing. Mine is made by Springfield, not CZ like I was told by the seller... I will try to post a pic, but I doubt I can get that detail.

Here are some pics...

As you can see from my very bad pics, the hammer assembly is a bit different, but there does seem to be a small hole where a pin seems to have been removed?? It may have been removed by the original owner, but it seems to operate ok. I will see if I have any luck with Springfield on getting a manual. It is serial # 100XX So not sure of the age, but condition is 95% +

That handguard looks great (I might have to email him for a favor:D).

I do see the same notch where the safety tab would rotate into...much have been removed:confused: I'd definately contact Springfield and see if you could get a replacement.

You really got to love the size of this little gem! If it's not too windy or rainy Saturday morning I may try to hit the range (if he's not closed)...stinking hurricanes even ruin your planned range day:mad:

is there any choke on the .410 barrel??

All of the M6's made by springfeild/CZ have FULL CHOKES built in to the barrel.

Theres info on the webe by folks that have M6's that slugs arent accurate out of the full choke barrel. i use Winchester 5 pellet 000 buck for defense or trying to get a deer very up close(doubt i could, but theres always the possibility.

I have tried every brand of slug I can get my hands on and have decided that if I had to take a deer with it , I would shoot it in the head with the .22. on the other hand the 410 takes a squirrel out of leafy hickory tree top very nicely . I have taken ground hog at 50 yards with the .22

Have any of you guys tried the 22 hornet version. I went with it instead of the 22lr for the extra range and power over the 22lr for medium game. The 410 ga is for rabbits & tree rats and in a survival situation any edible flying critter I can get close enough to shoot on the wing or on the ground.
The only mod's done to mine is the cord wrap 550 cord on the fore arm, wrapped snug but not over tight it still shoot to the same point of aim After the wrap. I also added a Doan Mag/ferro block on the right rear of the butt stock with a dot of shoe goo.
I still havent found a sling i'am happy with but iam using a modified baldric that looks promissing made from 550 cord with the cobra stitch.
