M9 CG Pictures

Where'd you snag the CG? I checked the swamp chat, and don't see any mention of it...can you point me in the right direction...anyone? It'd be much appreciated.

D'oh...Blade West..eh?

yep, so far they have only shown up at Blade West, hopefully they will hit the store sometime soon. I am surprised (or not) that Eric hasn't been on in a while to comment on all the M9CG pics and give us some info on them. Eric..... hint hint

With all of the Waki orders happening recently it seems pretty understandable that he would be less able to reply on this forum. I too hope we hear from him soon.

I hope they release the m9cg in other color combos. I'm getting rid of my one from blade west (tanker gray?) but would buy another if they came in my favorite color...

How do you think it'd chop? I'm lusting for a chopweiler, but the M9 has the same handle shape as my HRLM, which I really love. Guessing the blade on the chop makes it more suited, and the hump handle probably helps. Any insight?

I saw dude's post, using it to chop...22oz, though. What's the 'weiler? 17 or 18oz? Guess I'm really just thinking aloud....

I haven't chopped with the CG, but I imagine it will chop pretty well. I HAVE used the LE version to chop, and in a head-to-head comparison, it outchopped a Busse NMSFNO with the factory edge. It was also way better than the Busse for brush clearing, and worked well for batoning.

I would guess that the CG, with the saber grind and more blade-heavy balance, would chop even better than the LE. The M9 isn't a knife DESIGNED for chopping, as it's got a fast and light balance, but it is a very capable chopper, while also being less fatiguing to swing. The LE is one of my favorite knives.

If you'd like to discuss the M9 some more, feel free to shoot me an email - you can do that by clicking on my name here.

QUOTE,'.., it outchopped a Busse NMSFNO...' /QUOTE

As an owner and user of the M9LE & a S.O.W., when I think of the NMSFNO I think 'slash and thrust.' The M9LE wants to eat something, vigorously!! NMSFNO, not the blade I would choose for a 'chopper.' An M9GG? Major lumber eater!!!

Actually, after putting a proper edge on it, the NMSFNO is a mean chopper for its size. It outchops some much longer knives.

It was just dull as heck when I picked it up off the table at BLADE.

The NMSFNO grip and pommel allow for a ton of choke back and using a thong, oops, I mean lanyard, it seems to be a really nice design for chopping. So far I have only chopped air with mine but that is my impression at least.
