I understand that it might be intentional, although I'm not sure why - the only thing it could do is make a blade cut worse?

To put into perspective how little the small F&F issues bother me - I just ordered a mini A-100 SF...
 
I believe it's a means of showing off the grind. Shows how talented the folks at EKI are at grinding blades. To be honest all of my Emersons have come with perfect grinds, unlike other manufacturers.

I have to agree. I'm being serious when I say I can look at that blade for quite some time and be amazed as I tilt it in the light and see all the different colors and flashes and stuff. I find a moment everday somehow to do that too. The grind is epic.

Good point about Emerson's grinds being perfect, I've never seen an EKI blade that wasn't.
