I nead some advise on finishing macarta from start to finish.
Any help will be wonderful and thanks in advance.
May God bless J R Hart:confused:

Sand in increasingly higher grits like you would on wood, I like it finished at 400 grit, but you can go higher and use some 0000 wool and if you want it can be finished with a drop of tung oil or mineral oil. Micarta can also be bead blasted, lots of possibilities.

When you get it sanded to your final grit, wipe on some "Teak" oil. Let it soak for about 15 minutes, then wipe off the excess. Next day, rub the living "snot" out of it with a coarse rag (blue jeans material, or one of mama's face towels).

This will seal the fibers and make things look "purdy".

P.S. ............. I think the common spelling is "Micarta"
