Macbook Air or regular Macbook

There is a trick if you need to use a DVD/Blu-Ray/etc in a laptop that doesn't have one and if you know in advance. Get a program that makes an image of the disc and then when you need it mount that image and use it as like normal. I forgot what I used to use on my Window's machines but it's something I used to use years ago before rebuying some of my games on steam as I hated having to pop back in a game disc just to play a game.

I'll take daemon tools for 400. :)

I love my 11" Air

it does all i ask of it - surfing the internet, iTunes, watching movies, and a bit of photoshop

the only time i can get it to struggle is when stitching together and editing big panoramas, with 20+ 24mp images in them.

I have a slightly older work issued 15" macbook pro (non retina, from before the retina came out) that is great - the matte screen is nicer to edit pictures with, but the 11" air seems to be just as quick and much more portable.

my only issue with the 11" air is the tiny screen - its fine for most uses, but a big screen is nice when editing pictures - luckily i have a 24" display i can easily plug in both at home and at work.

You can always use the program Handbrake to convert your DVDs into substantially smaller .mp4 files for use on computers lacking a DVD drive.
