Macgyver

I too liked the show, but didn't care for the message. Some of the things MacG. did would actually work (except for the explosions), although, usually not as shown in the show.
Enjoy!

I remember in one episode they were doing something with an old truck that had a broke piston rod and MacG. welded it back together with a generator, jumper cables and 2 silver dollars. Back then I was like, "WOW" but after being a welder for 11 years I know it was BS. Good show though.

I have been re-watching the show lately, my local cable system has 3 episodes a day spread over 2 channels, and it's been knida fun to look back on the show as an adult now. One thing that has surprised me though, is that he used Wenger's more than I had remembered. Even in the opening credits of teh early season, the SAK you see him open the main blade on is a Wenger Master. You can clearly see the little 1-2" keyring chain, but if you pause it you can also see the pushdown lock release on the main blade.

You can also see that the model changed practically every episode.

What's really humorous to me is the "high-Tech" computers stuff on there, that is so outdated now.

I never really watched Macgyver, I was too young at the time to be interested in it. As for NCIS being a pro gun and knife show, I never saw anything that suggested they were making a statement for or against either. Although, I have seen many knives showcased on the show, especially Spydercos and Benchmades. Maybe one of the writers is a knife nut :D .

I liked his low-key, can-do approach to tasks. Especially since he could make something out of scraps of stuff laying around. Like twine, rubber bands, glue, paperclips, etc.

As far as NCIS goes, The fact that the main character often makes the statement "rule #9 ALWAYS carry a knife", I think that could be taken to be in the "Pro" catagory.

I'm more curious as to why you dug up a post from July 2004 of mine and felt the need to "correct" it?

That makes at least the second post of mine you have done something like that in, off to a good start for someone that just registered this month?
