What say you fine folk?

Its purely for fun, as I have no NEED for a big knife. Which would you rather have?

Thanks for the help ;)

I have both, use both, love the 9, but have been leaning towards the 4 recently. I had no "need" for a big knife until I "needed" a big knife. Now I'm glad I've got some big knives.

The 9 is great however there is a coolness factor while using the Machax. It could be that the Machax is the current "latest and greatest." I still find myself going back and forth between the two.

I've got both and there is no contest when it comes to the 'fun' factor. Machax all the way, due to the goofy shape. Of course it's an added bonus that the thing works darn well.

If you don't own a Becker, get the 9 first. It's like a gateway drug for the Machax.

I'd take the 9, it'll be easier to sharpen and it's traditional blade will work better for food prep. Sure it's a chopper but I think what it might lose to the matchax it makes up in versatility

I have a 9, no machaxe but a few khukuri's with similar ergo's.
Go for the 9, besides chopping stuff it is a very usable "butcher knife" in the kitchen. Like a 21st century version of the old mountain man's big butcher knife that was used for everything under the sun.
If I can find a way to buy(cheaply) or make a decent kydex for my 9 the trailmaster would see a lot less carry.

Get both, then take the handles off, and put them together. Have the ultimate in double bladed death for shrubbery! You also need to de-ramp and choil though...
