Hey everyone, I just wanted to post some Fiddlebacks pics up. The 12" and 16" machetes have had about an hour of use each even though they are cleaned up for the group shot. They are easily the best machetes I have used in terms of comfort and effectiveness for lighter brush. I can see why Andy likes the 12" machete for a large bushcraft blade because although it is thin, it doesn't have that machete wobble (I'm guessing the heat treat and steel quality plays a big role). I have not had a chance to use any of his knives yet but will next week and will post a review. Sorry for bad cell phone quality pics

Those are some beautiful knives there! Lots of skinny butts.

I am eager to try one of the machete's. Just cannot decide between the 12" and 16".

Great pics of a great collection! I really like the variation of materials and colors.

Gorgeous pictures! Great looking family of Machetes and Knives. I see a 12" Machete in my future.

What wood is on that Woodsman? (I'm assuming it's a Woodsman - the largest knife in your family).

Feel an urge for a 12" Machete, thankfully Andy is out of stock.

Gorgeous Woodsman and Recluse!

Great pics thanks for sharing! That is a beautiful gaggle of blades you have there. ;)

Thanks, that woodsman is lacewood and is even more stunning in person, my neighbor has offered to buy over half of them right off the bat. My friend is going to buy the Arête this week after I got him addicted to Ray Mears vids on YouTube. I can't wait to try the 14 and 18 inch machetes out!

Wonderful photos of an excellent FBF collection. I have not seen too many photos of the machetes so this tread is really cool. Thank you for sharing.

A 14" FB Machete is on my next to get list. Since Andy has crafted me a jaw-dropper of a Hiking Buddy that should be here in the coming week (seriously, he just sent me the pics and it is by far the most gorgeous knife I will have in my collection whose only competition is my beloved Woodsman), I might need something bigger to pair it with. Hiking buddy for walking the trails with my lil' girl and a 14" FB in one of Heber's sheathes strapped to the pack. Good medicine for a trip communing with Mama Nature.

Lovely family of Fiddlebacks you've got there. Jealous is an understatement;)

Great pics, I have the 16" and really want to try the 14.
It looks just about perfect.

Yeah that 14 looks like a good all-arounder. I am going to have to test them all out on different woods and thicknesses to see where each one shines, I'm in Texas so there is a lot of mesquite and they grow like weeds so that 18 should be great to clear paths.

Man, what a collection. I really like the whole set. You seem to use that 16"er the most. Its got a nice patina on the handle. Thanks for posting!!!

Thanks Andy, the 16 definitely got a little more use but I have not noticed much of a loss to the edge at all. It is still very sharp. That emerald burlap bushcrafter is quite a stunner and I can see why there is so much love for burlap now.

Thanks Raining, I think Andy was saying that osage is some of the toughest woods out there for daily use, so that recluse might be a good canditate to get started with.

Damn nice group of Fiddlebacks man! The 12 has less "machete wobble" also because the blade is slightly thicker...or at least was on the early ones. I'm getting older and don't bother making many trails anymore..plus I try not to scare off the wildlife when I am out, so these days the Camp Knife has taken over the role my 12" had. It has no machete wobble either :)
