Today while awaiting my job to start I decided to take my 18in Cold Steel Bowie machete out to play. This weekend I removed the coating, convexed the edge and squared the spine.

Everything worked great. No bends or nicks. Took about 3 mins to get it back sharp. I do have a blister on my thumb. I don't like the rubber grip. Tip even held up.

I got a CS Kukri and a Mag Kuk, and some Becker handles. Thinking about marrying those handles with the reg Kuk. Hope it don't explode. Nice looking bowie. Moose

Yeah the Chinese CS machetes were worlds better than the South African (Lasher Tools) ones in terms of overall quality, but the rubber handles were a blister machine. Also the handle could have been a little more flattened to prevent rotation in the hand on strong glancing blows. My CS barong machete was the one I used to baton a tree trunk--tough stuff!:thumbup:
