Machete sheath Pics

Here are Chainrings Square bottomed and doubled stitched sheaths that you all have been waiting for:

Aside from a Prototype sheath I did for my Esee-4 this is the first time I've made this style sheath. They turned out better then I thought they would. The stitching is a little different for each sheath as you can see. Am thinking that I like the look of the one with more stitching. What do you guys think?

Of the two, the one with more stitching does seem more in keeping with that style. I like 'em both, though! Can't wait to see 'em. Now I'm just waiting for Andy to get down the list to my 12 inchers!

Thanks! I'll send them off tomorrow after class. :) The extra stitching near the tip does look better doesn't it? Figure thats what I'll with this style from now on.

Thanks! I didn't like the style at first, but it's grown on me enough that I might make my self one. ;)

Ski, I got your's and Chainrings mixed up. :o Going to start yours Friday. But it is the next of the square bottomed sheaths that I'm doing. ;)

Are you interested in a simple leather lace strap or a 1" strap with metal buckle? Here is a 1" strap with Nickel buckle that I made for my self a few weeks ago:

That is awesome! I was suggesting something for Horny Toad but I might want one with the 1" strap. It is sweet!

Here are 5 sheaths that I just finished.

#1. 12" Fiddleback in Oak - Obenaufs Heavy LP
#2. 16" Fiddleback + leather leg strap in Chestnut - Obenaufs Heavy LP
#3. 12" Fiddleback with 2 piggyback strap in Chestnut - Obenaufs Heavy LP
#4. 12" Fiddleback with Fire-steel loop in Chestnut - Obenaufs Heavy LP
#5. 12" Fiddleback in Chestnut - Obenaufs Heavy LP

As you can see from the pictures all the sheaths have some interesting texturing and marks on them. #5 has part of the brand and some fat marks. IMO they are all pretty cool, but that ones my favorite.
 
Having a brand on there would be cool! Never thought about that happening! How often do you see brands on your sides of leather?

I'd say 1 out of 5 hides has a brand on it, maybe more, maybe less. I'm trying to keep an eye out for brands on the hides so that I can incorperate them into the sheaths. They are definantly cool!
 
Here are 8 sheaths that I'm currently working on that are sewn and just need finishing work. The finishing work includes rounding the edges, applying 2 coats of leather protector and fitting keeper straps.

I have 2 more sheaths that need the welts glued stitched then the finishing work. Will post them sometime this weekend.

Chainring, I've been keeping busy working on sheaths. I just keep forgetting to post pictures. Finished 15 sheaths last weekend. :eek: My normal batch is between 7 and 10 sheaths so last weekend was crazy!!

Your order is #28 to #32 right now with the last two sheaths for that Monster. The two sheaths that I'll be posting pictures of later this weekend are Brown Chainring Specials, one for another customer and the other for Andy's Pass around. Figure I'd warn you now so I don't come across like a big tease when I post them. ;)
