Oh, no offense taken. Which swords such as a Chisa would outperform CS at a lower price point? One can aquire furnishings, such as the solid steel/iron square blackend guard, Tsuba (sp?) so called "ninja" variety, that I intend to employ w/ my Chisa, as well as more "utilitarian" goodies.
I have also wondered many times why CS doesn't offer a couple of "ninja katanas", as well as alternitave weapons such as the "kasurigama" (sp?), caltrops etc. to go with the shurieken they sell.
I cannot speak for them, or any other mgfr. since I don't own any other "longer bladed" options, other than khukuris and Bowie knives.
Which brings us back on topic. I see the "sword styled" machetes as a group of inexpensive "backyard hack-up" blades. If CS made them 2-3 times thicker, the price would have to be adjusted, and folk would gripe over such.
For years, they made Americanized versions of the Japanese offerings in CV, such as the "Oyubun" version of the Magnum Tanto IX and XII.
I shoulda picked that one up.
