Machetes rock

Sadly, Condor prices are going up, not so budget anymore. I was looking at their recently released 2017 lineup, and they're all like $80-90. Used to, the ones with wood handles were like $50-60, and the Micarta handled ones were the more expensive $80-85 models. But the new lineup, with plenty of blades in the 13 inch range, with the same 1075 steel and wood handles, are $85 and the micarta ones are now like $100-105. Kinda annoying, I love my Condor stuff, but I loved paying $60 for a 13 inch blade a lot more than I love paying $85 for one.

what happens when there's a big fan community (preppers, forumites, youtubers, EDCers, etc.) praising your products. The brand has grown a lot the last years due to popularity on the internet and such

Upnorth....try one of the 12 in barongs....love that thing....really versatile with the pointed tip

I thought about it Brad, and might still. I got the Condor version years ago. Winter is usually my buying time out of boredom etc. I got a bunch of new ones in, Tanto, slant tip etc. We'll see what's floating around when the snow blows again.

just got a cs chinese sword machete....amazingly didnt come with the sticker on it. its big heavy and awkward. not real useful as a machete, but i like the way it looks so i dont care as i already have dozens of machetes that are useful as machetes.

Always interesting to see owner impressions. Myself, I tend to go toward the wood processors. The 18 inch ? I believe Slant Tip stood out a bit from others that I got this winter. Seems like a nice balance of size/weight/chopping power. It seems to have a tiny bit more weight than the others that I got, or has a different balance, and I like it. I am pretty hot for the Jungle machete also, I grabbed two of those.

Jungle and Gladius were my two favorites. The former really seems to punch way above its weight...
