In my quest for something recently offered to me, I have to sell one more of my previously thought to be "keeper" knives, I chose this one thinking it will be a fairly quick sale.
This is the next to impossible to get Mad Dog Spook, all ceramic 4.5" tanto.
These are very hard to find, the few I have seen for sale over the last year or 2, were not in dead mint condition, invariably, there will be small chips to the black blade coating, or, small chips along the edge, the blade on this knife is flaweless, not one chip to the finish, not the smallest micro-nick to the very sharp edge. This came directly from MD about a year ago, and is in the same condition. The blade is Kevin's ceramic composite, 1/4" thick stock, flawlessly flat ground, edge is equally flawless and even. Handle is shrink wrapped elastomer.
It comes with a remarkably well made MD kydex neck sheath, that has no rivets of course, and fits the knife perfectly, when the blade "locks" in place, so precisely, it's a thing of beauty, like the sound and feel of the door closing on a $200,000 Mercedes.
I believe that to get this directly from MD used to cost $500, but, of course, you can not get them from MD anymore, this is a special package, for obvious reasons.
I want $695, which includes fully insured, 2-day shipping. I've seen used ones sell for this price before.
This is the knife said to be able to shave glass and many cutlery steels, since the composite ceramic used is nearly as hard as a diamond, at the very least, one can say with certainty, it will hold an edge for a loooooooong time.
First to email me with the magic words: "I'll take it!" gets this rare dog.
