To my knowledge, this is the first Bayou Hunter ever offered on BF. Didn't come up with anything when I searched. I received the knife from Kevin in 2007. The blade is 9". Thickness mics out at .254" at the guard. Comes with an ATAK sheath. In addition to the traditional "Mad Dog" inscription, I had Kevin inscribe "Psalm of David 144:1" - my favorite Psalm. http://nasb.scripturetext.com/psalms/144.htm
There is zero rust anywhere, but knife is not a safe queen. I have used it on three camping trips to do general chores and light chopping. I re-profiled the edge to a lower angle grind with my Apex Pro after the first trip, and it is VERY sharp. The O1 can handle the lower angle. Kevin's clay tempering is excellent judging by this knife. Edge is straight and HARD. The knife will chop two inch kindling and remain shaving sharp.
Kevin's workmanship has improved greatly over the years. I had some friends who had ATAKS in the nineties, and this one is nicer. There are no gaps where the handle meets the blade, and the blade is centered nicely. This knife will make someone very happy.
It is one of my favorite knives. I am selling because of a family emergency. $800 PP shipped & insured
