  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Mad Dog + Mission = Nexus

7" blade, 0.283 thickness.

K360 special steel blade, tough more than A2 and corrosion resistant as D2,
hardened 58/59 hrc blade and 50 hrc in the handle.
monolithic nema FR4 glass epoxy handle.

Is a very strong moultiproupose knife, very good utility and very good fighter,
I think is a good knife.

contact this email for it nexussteel@yahoo.com , I don't' know if there are
others available, there are only 74 in world.

Not trying to be an azz, but what is the history on this knife, who is making it what else do they do, what is their history?

No Website?

Cost?

Steel? What is it? a number is not enough. Saying it is tougher than A2 and more corrosion resistant than D2 is nice but where is the proof?

Where are the knives being made? (ie., USA, China, etc.)

74 in the world means what?

Like Cobalt, I would like to know a lot more about this knife. The title of this thread gives the impression that Mission and Mad Dog got together in its making. I would love to have a clearer understanding of exactly what Nexus is.

I googled nexussteel and found one in Mumbai, India...
anyway, the knife looks fine but the handle looks amateurish to me

There isn't website, the knife is built for a explorer group (Nexus) on commission in Europe.

the steel is here http://www.buau.com.au/english/files/K360DE_ISODUR.pdf

a new hi tech steel, Electro Slag Remelting tecnology.

The knife is not built from Mission and Mad Dog, but from experience of explorers group in use of those knives.

It cost 390 euro. The knives built are 74, I have buy it from the Nexus explorer group, they have a little surplus.

ok, so the steel is not a mystery then. However, all those tech facts tell us nothing about it's performance.

Who actually made the knife? and where?

Why so expensive when not even proven?

Molleta, I am glad you have faith in it, but I would not even think of paying over $400 for a knife that has not even been proven. There still no proof that it is better than A2 and D2, which is a mighty big statement.

As for the design. I prefer the solid spine of the Mission A2 MPK and Mad Dogs ATAK. It definitely makes for a stronger knife IMO. Considering that the MPK A-2 is less than half the price, I cannot even imagine that there would be more than 74 in existence at that price.

Maybe someone can send one to Cliff for testing? :D

The knife are made in Italy from a firm that made knives for many American marks.
The knife are proven from the Nexus group that until time use with satisfaction MPKS.
Thay say that the knife have very good cutting ability, (chopping, hole and others) and big structural resistant.
The handle Nema FR4 (similar to G10/11) is one piece and is resistat to solvents, acids, fire..

I am proven one, and it's very good.

The spine of nexus is solid as the mission and mad dog, 0.283 tick (7.2mm),
The steel is more toungh than A2 (18%) and have corrosion resistant similar to D2. (bohler produces also A2 and D2).
The price of mpks is the half, but I think that the esr k360 is more expansive of A2 and the one piece of Nema fr4 is hard to made.

Sorry, I can't send you one.

That's cool, time will tell how good they are. They look nice, but until you get some real world testing by some well known groups or individuals, it will still be a mystery knife from a mystery maker.

I hope it works out well though, as I like tough user knives.
